Description
Metocene MF650Y is a metallocene-catalysed polypropylene homopolymer with an extremely high MFR of 1800 g/10 min and a very narrow molecular weight distribution, available in a free-flowing flake form at a density of 0.90 g/cm³. Metocene MF650Y is specifically designed for melt-blown fibre production and compounding, where it promotes finer fibres, improved filament continuity, and reduced fly and lint without peroxide degradation by-products.
Processing Techniques
Melt-blown fibre spinning and compounding extrusion are the primary processes for Metocene MF650Y, where its 1800 g/10 min MFR allows reduced processing temperatures and meaningful energy savings versus peroxide-degraded alternatives. Metocene MF650Y runs cleanly with low smoke generation, and die cleanliness along with uniform temperature across the die width are essential for consistent nonwoven web quality.
