PP homopolymer
Moplen HP561R

Natural
Description
Moplen HP561R is a polypropylene homopolymer with an MFR of 25 g/10 min, a density of 0.900 g/cm3, and a very narrow molecular weight distribution, formulated with anti-gasfading stabilisation for continuous filament spinning, spunbond nonwovens, and extrusion coating applications. Moplen HP561R offers higher heat resistance and stiffness than PE coatings, along with superior grease and chemical resistance, making it particularly well suited for extrusion coating of paper, paperboard, BOPP film, and metal foil substrates. The lower density of Moplen HP561R enables potential for thinner coatings without sacrificing performance in food packaging, medical packaging, and moisture barrier applications.
Processing Techniques
Extrusion coating and continuous filament spinning are the key processes for Moplen HP561R, where corona treatment of the substrate at approximately 10 W/ft2 is critical for achieving strong PP-to-substrate adhesion. When extrusion coating with Moplen HP561R, maintain an air gap of 7-9 inches and chill roll water temperatures of 17-27 degC for optimal coating adhesion and surface quality. For spunbond applications, Moplen HP561R runs efficiently at high line speeds due to its 25 g/10 min flow rate and narrow MWD, producing uniform webs with consistent basis weight.
