Moplen EP440G

Natural
Description
Moplen EP440G is a nucleated polypropylene heterophasic copolymer for extrusion, offering an MFR of 1.3 g/10 min, a tensile modulus of 1400 MPa, and an outstanding notched Charpy impact strength of 40 kJ/m² at 23°C with 10 kJ/m² retained at 0°C. This combination of high stiffness, creep resistance, and sub-zero toughness makes Moplen EP440G suitable for thermoformed trays, corrugated board, and extrusion blow-moulded containers. The nucleation in Moplen EP440G accelerates crystallisation, supporting higher line speeds and improved surface finish in extruded sheet and profile applications.
Processing Techniques
Extrusion -- including sheet, profile, and corrugated board -- is the recommended process for Moplen EP440G, and the very low 1.3 g/10 min MFR delivers the high melt strength required for stable web and board formation. Moplen EP440G also processes effectively in extrusion blow moulding for rigid containers demanding long-term creep resistance. Maintain barrel temperatures of 200–230°C and optimise die-gap and haul-off settings to capitalise on the nucleation-driven crystallisation speed of Moplen EP440G.
