Moplen EP548R

Natural
Description
Moplen EP548R is a nucleated polypropylene heterophasic copolymer with antistatic additivation, delivering an MFR of 21 g/10 min, a tensile modulus of 1500 MPa, and a Charpy impact strength of 6 kJ/m² at 23°C (4.5 kJ/m² at 0°C), and is suitable for food-contact applications. Moplen EP548R is well suited for thin-walled injection moulding of toys, furniture, housewares, opaque containers, and food-packaging items where stiffness and surface quality must be paired with regulatory compliance. The 27 MPa tensile yield stress and food-contact suitability of Moplen EP548R make it a strong option for converters in both consumer and packaging markets.
Processing Techniques
Injection moulding is the recommended process for Moplen EP548R, and the 21 g/10 min MFR supports efficient thin-wall filling and moderate flow-length cavity designs. Moplen EP548R's nucleation accelerates demoulding, while the antistatic agent prevents static-related dust contamination -- particularly valuable in food-packaging environments. Process at melt temperatures of 210–240°C and maintain clean tooling to ensure the grade's food-contact suitability is preserved in the final moulded article.
