PP homopolymer
Moplen HP556E

Natural
Description
Moplen HP556E is a high-molecular-weight polypropylene homopolymer with an MFR of 0.8 g/10 min and a density of 0.900 g/cm3, formulated with an enhanced process stabilisation package featuring low water-carry-over for strapping, sheet, and pipe extrusion. Moplen HP556E delivers the high melt strength and tensile performance needed for heavy-duty strapping, industrial bags and pouches, and barrier film applications across flexible, industrial, and rigid packaging markets. Its very low flow rate and high molecular weight make Moplen HP556E an excellent choice for applications where mechanical toughness and orientation-induced strength are paramount.
Processing Techniques
Extrusion is the primary process for Moplen HP556E, where its very low MFR of 0.8 g/10 min provides exceptional melt strength for producing highly oriented strapping with superior break load and weld strength. When processing Moplen HP556E on strapping lines, the low water-carry-over formulation minimises moisture defects and surface blemishes, improving both line efficiency and strap quality. Maintain higher barrel temperatures (230-270 degC) to ensure adequate melt homogeneity with Moplen HP556E, and optimise draw ratios to maximise tensile properties in the finished strap or sheet product.
